FICTIONAL TRAINING EXAMPLE. The sample below is deliberately incomplete. It is not a laboratory report, certification or evidence for any real product.

A fabric swatch, finished garment, phone case and installed room are different test objects. Identify exactly what was tested before applying the result to a purchase.

Check the frequencies, configuration, method and revision. A headline maximum does not describe every condition. Ask for the complete results and uncertainty, rather than extending a selected value to other frequencies or setups.

Check the laboratory, date, sample identity and full report. Missing information calls for clarification; it is not proof that the product fails. Physical shielding results alone do not establish a health benefit.

Your report-reading checklist

  • Exact sample or product model
  • Frequencies and field quantity
  • Test method, revision and setup
  • Full results, uncertainty and limitations
  • Laboratory, date and traceable report
  • A conclusion that matches the tested claim

Sources and scope

ASTM D4935 public scope describes a method for planar materials under specified conditions. This lesson does not reproduce the standard, teach its procedure or claim that the fictional excerpt meets it.

FTC health-product evidence guidance provides context for evaluating health claims separately from material performance.
